I have battled the weight problem like millions of Americans from a different point than Gary has. My battle has been that last 10-20 pounds to get to my ideal weight. I have always played sports and been very active to try and keep within 20 lbs. of my ideal weight. In 1976, I started running 26 mile marathon races to help me. I did that for 20 years until 1996. I would usually be down close to my ideal weight at that time in the 155 lbs. range. Then from October through January, I would gain about 15 pounds and in March start all over again. Then I was injured in 1996 and didn't get down to my ideal weight, but still gained from October through January (4 family birthdays, (now 6), Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc.) So instead of my upper limit at 170, I raised it to 175, then 180 and finally 185. Upper limit is the promise to myself to "NEVER" go above that limit.

Well, I've tried most every "diet" that comes along and lost 10-12 lbs. - only to end up gaining back 12-15 lbs.!
